Business Analyst with Regal Entertainment Group

The IT Department is seeking an interested candidate to join their corporate office team. This position is based at the corporate office in Knoxville, Tennessee and reports directly to the Director of Corporate Applications.

Summary: The Business Analyst position is responsible for a wide range of activities which ensure operational effectiveness. The Business Analyst will assist with the design and documentation of workflow, and evaluates and develops detailed documentation of user requirements, system functionality, and processes or procedures needed to design, modify, or maintain computer systems. The Business Analyst position may be responsible for daily support and maintenance of assigned systems including software applications and data processing functions to support business needs. The Business Analyst position may assist a Project Manager or Lead Analyst on some key projects and works under the supervision of the Director of Corporate Applications. The Business Analyst position will be a functional and subject matter expert on specified applications and will be a 1st or 2nd level support resource in the Information Technology’s Corporate Applications group, responsible for application administration and support during normal business hours and occasional off-hours on-call support.

The Business Analyst position is an exempt position and is primarily responsible for:

Regular and consistent attendance.
Provide staff and users with assistance solving system problems such as application and data processing malfunctions.
Test, install, maintain, and monitor computer applications and systems.
Administration of application security including user account creation/deactivation and performance of quarterly user security audits.
May liaison with IT and/or outside vendors as assigned in support of the systems.
Collaborate with the business unit systems users to identify and document business requirements and functional specifications.
Create and maintain application documentation including, but not limited to, technical, end-user, FAQ, change/configuration management, disaster recovery, and functional requirements.
Collaborate with the business users for creation or modification of support documentation.
Collaborate with all IT management and staff for creation or modification of business requirements and functional specification documentation.
Develop understanding of the varied and complex current and future support needs of the current systems. Provides ideas and recommendations regarding the support of the systems.
Responds to questions regarding current and potential system inputs, processes, and outputs. Conducts research and analysis into system problems.
Train staff and users to work with computer systems and applications on an as-needed basis.
Participates in industry and other professional networks to ensure awareness of industry standards, trends and best practices in order to strengthen value to the organization.
Works independently to support users and under direction of project managers.
Supports the development and maintenance of business systems needs.
Provides first or second level support and administration of specified applications during normal business and occasional off-hours on call support.
Performs other duties as assigned by Director or Lead Analyst.

Qualifications are as follows:

Minimum of 2+ years of experience in Information Technology, preferably in the area of business analysis and support roles.
Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
Must be organized and able to handle multiple tasks concurrently.
Must be capable of working independently with normal day-to-day guidance.
Must exhibit creativity and innovation in developing system solutions.
Prefer experience supporting financial systems. (i.e. ERP, Microsoft AX, etc.)
Experience working with a defined systems development lifecycle.
General relational database management systems experience and knowledge of SQL, preferably with Microsoft SQL Server.
Experience with technical alternatives and basic knowledge of emerging technologies and trends.
Experience is preferred in Theatre Information Technology.
Must have good interpersonal and communications skills in order to deal effectively in a positive, professional manner with business unit users, management and staff, as well as IT management and staff.
Must be a team player and good collaborator.
Must be able to work well either independently or within a structured team environment.
